What We're Celebrating
Three cheers for some stellar achievements!
Let's give some of our incredible colleagues a round of applause for all their hard work and accomplishments!

A wholehearted congratulations to Molly Rademacher who, in addition to being a registered architect, just passed her NCIDQ exams and is now a registered interior designer! Is there anything Molly can't do?!
A round of applause for Tanna Gillespie who recently passed all her ARE exams! Way to go, Tanna; fantastic work!
We are so proud of David Swartz who has been appointed to the West Los Angeles Sawtelle Neighborhood Council Board of Directors! Your commitment to community involvement never ceases to amaze us, David.
Wonderful to see Jade Li profiled for CIDQ'S Designer Diversity Spotlight, which celebrates the diversity of NCIDQ Certificate holders and the diversity of the interior design community. So well-deserved, Jade!
Have something notable to share? Want to shout-out a colleague's achievement? Let us know! Email news@theljc.com so we can include it in our next issue of the Plum Line.
What We're Up To
Oh, just some of the cool things we got up to recently
Mackenzie McCulloch represented LJC on the Autodesk University panel, "Beyond One Gender - The Power of Diversity & Inclusion."
The panel followed the journey of 5 different AEC professionals as they navigated their careers in BIM, the challenges they faced, and the impacts they made.

Our own LA elves helped out at a WeCare workshop!
Our team in California helped kids make some incredible, festive crafts for the holiday. What a wonderful way to celebrate the season.

We had a ball celebrating the holidays all over the country!

We looked alike quite a bit in the office this year!
Accidentally matching outfits all-around!

Did we miss anything fun going on around the office? Send it to news@theljc.com! We'd love to include it in the next issue of the Plum Line!
Who's Joined Us
Would you look at that? Even more new folks joined LJC!

Who We Are
A monthly Q&A to help you get to know what some of your LJC colleagues are up to outside the office!

Meet Marissa Swanson!
Office: Atlanta, GA
Title/Role: Senior Associate
Focus Area: Architecture
School(s) you graduated from: Iowa State University
Get to Know Marissa!
What is something about you that you think would surprise your coworkers? I launched my own startup and developed my own app called TOSS in 2017.
What’s your most niche, non-work-related interest? I like to read tarot.
If you could travel to any time period/place, what would it be and why? I would travel to the future, where humans occupy more than one planet, and space travel is just as easy as hopping on a flight today.
What movie can you watch over and over again? What makes it so special? Good Will Hunting, I enjoy that the 'genius' in the movie was no one anyone expected and I feel like I can relate - nearly every time I tell people I meet the first time that I'm an architect and they act shocked. The ultimate message, don't judge a book by its cover.
Say 'hello' to Kristen Jarvis!
Office: St. Louis
Title/Role: Interior Designer
School(s) you graduated from: University of Missouri - Columbia
Get to Know Kristen!
What is something about you that you think would surprise your coworkers? I was born in Pordenone, Italy. My dad was in the Air Force, so we moved around a bit growing up. I have not been back since I was a kid, so I would love to return one day soon!
What's the last TV show you binged and enjoyed? What was so good about it? From Scratch on Netflix. The show did a great job capturing the highs and lows of life in such a beautiful way. I would describe the short series as a 'beautiful tragic.'
What does a perfect weekend look like to you? A perfect weekend for me is simple! All I need is good food, good company, and one day to completely unwind and recharge for the week ahead.
Introducing Scott Hampton!
Office: LA (Culver City)
Title/Role: Associate Principal / Project Architect & Designer
School(s) you graduated from: University of Detroit
Get to Know Scott!
What's the most fun you've had on a trip or vacation? Hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc through France, Italy, and Switzerland
What does a perfect weekend look like to you? A long mountain bike ride, a hike with the kids, and dinner on the grill
What are you most proud of accomplishing in your life, NOT professionally, so far? My two kids. I would have thought it was corny to say this before having kids, but it's the truth.
What non-AEC related subject are you an expert on? How did you become one? Photography. My wife and I used to run a photography studio that did weddings and portraits.
