If you could speak another language, what would it be—and why?
I wish I could be fluent in Spanish. My mom is from Peru, and I still have family throughout South America and Mexico. I am conversational and can speak with my family in Spanish; however, I would love to sound like a native speaker.
What’s your most memorable vacation or trip?
My honeymoon is my most memorable trip. My husband and I spent two amazing weeks in Italy, starting with a hut-to-hut hike along the Alta Via 1 in the Dolomites. It was one of the hardest things we’ve ever done, we somehow completed the 12-day trek in just six days, but the incredible views and cozy nights at the mountain huts made all the blisters worth it. We rewarded ourselves with great food and wine in Florence and wrapped up the trip relaxing along the Amalfi Coast.
What are you most proud of professionally so far?
I’m most proud of earning my Professional Engineering license. For two months, I dedicated myself almost entirely to work and studying, arriving early, staying until around 9 p.m. on weekdays, and studying full days on the weekends. Passing the exam was incredibly rewarding and has had a meaningful impact on my professional growth and opportunities.
What movie do you never get tired of watching?
Miracle is a movie I never get tired of watching. I’ve seen it countless times, most recently the night before the U.S. Men’s Hockey Team played for gold in Mila. It’s such an inspiring underdog story and a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a team comes together for something bigger than themselves. And if you ask Skylar Heaton, she’ll confirm I can practically recite the entire movie word for word.

What’s your most memorable vacation or trip?
I love to travel, so it’s hard to choose just one! But one of my most memorable trips was visiting Italy with my husband. We explored Rome, Positano, Pompeii, Pisa, Florence, Venice, and Cinque Terre, each with its own unique charm. From the beautiful architecture, historical sites, and incredible art to the food, wine, shopping, and relaxed local life, everything was amazing. Some highlights included relaxing on the beach in Cinque Terre, taking a cooking class in Rome, touring a winery near Florence, shopping the local leather markets, and admiring all the beautiful architecture. It’s a trip that will always stand out as one of my favorites and would love to visit again one day!
What’s a niche or unexpected interest you have outside of work? When the weather warms up, I enjoy spending as much time outdoors as possible, and gardening has become one of my favorite summer hobbies. Each year I grow a mix of flowers, herbs, and vegetables. There’s something incredibly rewarding about cooking with ingredients I’ve grown myself and turning them into meals for my family. Also, who doesn’t love some homemade salsa?! It’s been a learning experience each year, but that’s part of the fun!
What does your ideal weekend look like?
My ideal weekend starts with a cozy Friday night at home—cooking with my husband, spending time with our baby (6 months old), and enjoying a movie with a glass of wine. Saturday is a slow morning with a big breakfast and a walk outdoors, followed by a night out with friends. Sunday begins with church, then relaxing by the pool or cruising in the Jeep and wraps up with a cookout at my parents’ with family—the perfect end to the weekend.

What’s something coworkers might be surprised to learn about you?
I spent my college years living in a 192-square-foot tiny home on wheels that I designed and built entirely myself. Despite its size it was fully equipped with all full-size appliances, a queen-sized bed, and even a soaking tub. The experience of designing and constructing something from scratch, just for myself, was one of the most rewarding things I've ever done. These days the tiny home has found a new purpose as a guest suite at my family's lake house.
What’s your most memorable vacation or trip?
My favorite vacation was a trip to St. Lucia with my wife, where we went snorkeling at a protected reef, hiked to a waterfall, and took a mud bath in a naturally heated sulfur spring at the base of a volcano. The food, the scenery, and the adventures made it a trip we'll never forget.
What book would you recommend?
For One More Day by Mitch Albom. It has a way of truly putting what matters in life into perspective.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Shortstop for the Atlanta Braves.

If you could speak another language, what would it be—and why?
I currently speak rudimentary Vietnamese. It would be nice to be fluent.
What’s your most memorable vacation or trip?
I have many memorable trips for various reasons, but the one I see not being able to be repeated is my first and currently only trip to San Diego Comic Con. Went with two other friends, first day we all dressed up in a group costume. This was our first times making and wearing costumes for a comic con. We were stopped and interviewed by a local news station, stopped by a person on stage giving away prizes for best costumes (we were just walking by and not participating), stopped by a cable channel for an interview, and constantly stopped by other attendees for photo ops and group costume photos.
If you could travel to any time or place, where would you go?
New Zealand or Australia.
What movie do you never get tired of watching?
Too many to count. But I’ll say Aliens, Back to the Future, Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
